Scratch that Coding Itch with Scratch!, 2016
Your students are interested in coding. Learn how to guide your students interests with Scratch (from scratch). Learn where to go from Scratch and how it compares toother programming languages. For all educators. Programming experience not required. B.Y.O. Computer.
Note: Scratch currently requires a computer capable of running Flash or Adobe AIR. The older Scratch 1.4 runs on some older computers with fewer capabilities. Scratch unfortunately does NOT run on most tablets or phones, including iPads and iPhones. My apologies to those attending the workshop thinking otherwise. (iPads and iPhones are a type of computer, but not in the traditional way I had intended in the description.)
Click links at left for learning and teaching resources related to this workshop. Materials related to previous Scratch workshops can still be valuable, especially links. Some resources are for older versions of Scratch.
(Scratch that Coding Itch with Scratch! was first done at MACUL2016 in March, and modified to add high school materials for Michigan Computer Science Teachers Association (MiCSTA) in April.)
